PUBLIC DEMAND for an up-to-date volume of Mother's life has been increasingly insistent since her passing. However, because it was felt that much thought and care should necessarily be taken in the preparation of so important a work, it is not until now that the publication has finally been completed for presentation.
Herein is a faithful portrayal of the rich and abundant ministry of Aimee Semple McPherson in the service of her King. No incident of importance has been sacrificed for the sake of space, and the author's style has been meticulously preserved.
Credit is due Rev. Raymond W. Becker, editor of The Foursquare Magazine and long associated with Mother in the department of sermon research, for the capable manner in which he has compiled and edited the most vital portions from those books, special articles, and sermons in which she dealt with, or referred to the story of her life; and for writing the Appendix to this book, which sums up the progress of the Foursquare Gospel Church since the promotion of its beloved founder.
It is with the deepest pleasure that I dedicate this volume to the memory of one honored by all who were co-laborers with her in the Lord's work—my Mother, everybody's “Sister.” May the reading of it afford them many pleasant recollections; and may it be the means of sincere heart-searching conviction on the part of those who have not as yet accepted the Christ she so faithfully preached.
Rolf K. McPherson, D.D.
